Zen Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a traditional healing art that seeks to promote and maintain balance and wellness by encouraging the unimpeded flow of vital life energy throughout the body. Zen Shiatsu is the most gentle, non-judgmental and non-invasive style of Shiatsu (literally "finger pressure") massage and works all 14 energy channels in a flowing and graceful full-body sequence that is both relaxing and energizing.

Shiatsu does not hurt! While some styles of shiatsu are more forceful than others, the Zen Shiatsu style works with gravity and efficient body mechanics to provide solid deep contact that is also completely nurturing and relaxing. This principle-based course emphasizes ways of working that are safe, effective and non-stressful to both practitioner and recipient.

In this program the student learns a specific style and sequence of bodywork techniques, a fundamental understanding of the functioning of the body from Eastern and Western perspectives, and the professional skills to begin a career as a Shiatsu Therapist.

This is a rigorous program of study and is offered in a structured format where each class builds upon the previous one. Students begin the program at the same time and work together over the course of the program, developing camaraderie and competence.

These popular courses do fill up quickly so it is recommended to register well in advance. If the course is full, you may ask to be placed on a waiting list in case there should be a cancellation. Sign up for maillist announcements of upcoming classes and workshops.

Shiatsu & Acupressure Trainings

Over the past 16 years, I've trained most of the shiatsu therapists in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Shiatsu is my love and it gives me great pleasure to pass on this amazing healing practice. Students have repeatedly reported that my shiatsu course was a life-transforming experience. I hope you'll join us for shiatsu trainings this year.

Practitioner and instructor training is available by arrangement in Thailand. For more information, please email Kondañña.
